What is SHERA?

The Sustainable Higher Education Research Alliances (SHERA) program aims to increase the research capacity of the Indonesian higher education sector and improve the enabling environment for quality research. By establishing Centers for Collaborative Research (CCRs) within top Indonesian universities, SHERA will bring together Indonesian and U.S. scholars to conduct world-class research in focus areas critical to the country’s development, further enhance the capacity of top Indonesian scholars and promote knowledge sharing with universities and affiliate institutions across the country.

How can Institutions get involved?

USAID SHERA seeks to fund approximately five CCRs at top-tier Indonesian institutions on specific topics in partnership with at least one U.S. higher education institution partner and at least three Indonesian higher education institution partners. More details can be found in the below pre-solicitation document.

The USAID SHERA team is currently accepting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from eligible higher education institutions. USAID SHERA will review completed EOIs to confirm candidates’ eligibility and establish target applicants for the full Request for Applications (RFA), to be released by the end of September 2016.

Download the EOI form below and email a completed and signed copy to USAID SHERA at [email protected] no later than September 15, 2016, 17.00 Jakarta time.
